In April we begin our kids fit class here at Seven Oaks. Class will be held at Grand Island Fitness Center on the patio Saturdays from 10:-10:30am. This class is structured in a way that will be “active play”. Peter Pang has had years of experience working with kids and fitness and will be leading this weekly class. The 30 minutes of “active play” will get kids moving in a fun, safe environment and be led in a way they won’t even realize they are exercising. This class is geared towards children between the ages of 6-12 years old.
May 6th 11-1pm Self Defense Class for women of all ages.
I am happy to announce that we will be conducting a two hour workshop on Self Defense taught by Tommy Little with South Valley Jiu Jitsu. Tommy is a black belt and teaches a women’s only self-defense class every week at his studio. They will provide our members with essential techniques of self-defense and identify common attack strategies that are most likely to be used on a woman. Escaping from hair grabs, choke holds, and bear hugs will be covered, as well as some offensive techniques like chokes and arm bars. SVJJ offers a relaxed, but “real world” teaching style that they know our members will appreciate. Sign-ups will go out shortly.
As summer months approach I just wanted to go through a few of the rules and regulations with the pools and fitness facilities. When using the pools members are allowed to bring four guests with them. The fitness facilities, however, is only open for members. At this time we can only allow members to utilize the fitness centers and classes. Children must also be 16 years of age to use the fitness facilities. I ask that everyone have their individual membership cards with them at all times to avoid confusion. Thank you again for your continued participation in this!!
